Bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz announces two new books
Hi, audiobooks fans! I just received an e-mail from New York Times bestselling thriller author Gregg Hurwitz with the news I’ve been waiting for since I finished listening to Orphan X! You can read my review here.
It seems that Mr. Hurwitz has decided to bring back Evan Smoak for another adventure. The 2nd book in the Orphan X series is called The Nowhere Man and it will be released on January 17, 2017. I’m convinced that there will be an audiobook and that the amazing Scott Brick will bring Evan Smoak to life, once more…
Here is what Gregg Hurwitz had to say about The Nowhere Man in his newsletter to fans earlier today:
I don’t want to reveal too much about the plot, but I will tell you that Evan finds himself in one of the tightest situations of his life.
The Nowhere Man is now available for Pre-Order and here is the Publisher’s Summary:
Spoken about only in whispers, it is said that when the Nowhere Man is reached by the truly desperate, he can and will do anything to save them.
Evan Smoak is the Nowhere Man.
Taken from a group home at twelve, Evan was raised and trained as part of the Orphan program, an off-the-books operation designed to create deniable intelligence assets―i.e. assassins. Evan was Orphan X. He broke with the program, using everything he learned to disappear and reinvent himself as the Nowhere Man. But the new head of the Orphan program hasn’t forgotten about him and is using all of his assets―including the remaining Orphans―to track down and eliminate Smoak.
But this time, the attack comes from a different angle and Evan is caught unaware. Captured, drugged, and spirited off to a remote location, heavily guarded from all approaches. They think they have him trapped and helpless in a virtual cage but they don’t know who they’re dealing with―that they’ve trapped themselves inside that cage with one of the deadliest and most resourceful Orphans.
Continuing his electrifying series featuring Evan Smoak, Gregg Hurwitz delivers a blistering, compelling new novel in the series launched with the breakout national bestseller, Orphan X.
The other interesting news from today’s newsletter is that in October, Mr. Hurwitz will make his debut into the Young Adult genre with The Rains. Below you can find a quote from Gregg and you can even read an excerpt from the book by clicking here.
In October, I’ll make my young adult debut with THE RAINS, an apocalyptic thriller that will appeal to fans of The Walking Dead and The 5th Wave. While this is a departure from my adult thrillers, it’s still an action-packed story that aims to transport readers into the heads of the characters. Oh, and there are Rhodesian ridgebacks. Of course.
The Rains will be available on October 18, 2016 and you can read the Publisher’s Summary and Pre Order it using the link below.
In the tradition of Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave, the first YA page-turner from New York Times bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz. In one terrifying night, the peaceful community of Creek’s Cause turns into a war zone. No one under the age of eighteen is safe. Chance Rain and his older brother, Patrick, have already fended off multiple attacks from infected adults by the time they arrive at the school where other young survivors are hiding.
Most of the kids they know have been dragged away by once-trusted adults who are now ferocious, inhuman beings. The parasite that transformed them takes hold after people turn eighteen–and Patrick’s birthday is only a few days away.
Determined to save Patrick’s life and the lives of the remaining kids, the brothers embark on a mission to uncover the truth about the parasites–and what they find is horrifying. Battling an enemy not of this earth, Chance and Patrick become humanity’s only hope for salvation.
I will reach out to Gregg and ask him about who will perform The Rains audiobook, but I hope to see Scott Brick, Vikas Adam or Luke Daniels bringing this young adult adventure to life.
Anyway, keep an eye out here for more news about audiobooks, narrators and author…
